Two of my portraits are currently part of the group exhibition Masters of Realismat Galerie RRMND in Roermond. I’m honored to showcase my work alongside 23 other talented realist artists.
The exhibition runs until November 16th, so feel free to stop by if you’re in the area!
My work exhibited at Gallery RRMND until 2nd of March.
Interested? Drop by the Gallery RRMND to see two paintings of mine: ‘Laila’ and ‘Oil Wrestlers 1’. They are currently part of the ‘Painting of the Year 2023’ group exhibition.
Glad to share that ‘Laila’ portrait got in the top 30 of the contest organized by De Kunst Collega’s B.V. The organization received entries from around 600 artists internationally, and I am happy, indeed proud, to have been selected by the jury.
• Edwin Becker – conservator and head of exhibition of ‘Van Gogh Museum’, Amsterdam
• Ralph Keuning – art historian and former director of Museum ‘de Fundatie’, Zwolle
• Zoë Schoonbrood – artist
• Raoul Locht – chairman of ‘Stichting Kunstweek’ and director of ‘De Kunst Collega’s B.V.’
Here below the jury review about ‘Laila’ portrait:
“A small size. And then to paint a portrait so beautifully that is mastery. The skin is alive. Not only through the handling of the colours but certainly also through the brushstrokes. Very beautiful how the light splinters. Small yellow dots make the face and neck shine. The artist has a sense of detail. Her eyes are like her jewellery; everything shines. Nice how the light flows into the background. It is a well-chosen colour. Nice that the one button still falls within the plane. The edge of the clothes frames the neck nicely. This piece is a powerful and convincingly painted one. What a skill the artist possesses.”
About ‘Painting of the Year’:
Painting of the Year is an annual competition, organized by the company De Kunst Collega’s B.V. The goal of the contest is not to determine which is the ‘best’ painting since that is very subjective and depends on several variables, but only to designate or indicate once a year what is the most valued painting amongst all the participants from The Netherlands and from abroad of that year.
Furthermore, the contest aims:
a. to increase the people’s appreciation for painting art
b. to increase the (name) awareness of the participating painters
c. to create an online overview of contemporary paintings as large as possible
