I create oil portraits that focus on character, presence, and individuality. From my studio in Amsterdam, I work with private clients and institutions to create timeless, personalised paintings.

A portrait is more than a likeness — it’s an image of presence, character, and timelessness. In my work, the human face takes centre stage: I seek subtle expression, depth of gaze, and the tension between vulnerability and strength.

Each portrait arises through dialogue — with the subject, the materials, and with you as the client. The result is a painting that is personal, yet able to stand apart from time or setting — a work that continues to speak.

I work in oil on high-quality Belgian linen. My style balances technical precision with expressive freedom. Light, color, and texture are central: warm tones bring vitality, cooler accents create depth and nuance.

Composition and background by agreement – from neutral to symbolic
Various sizes available – tailored to space and intention
Animal portraits – available upon request

Portraits can be made from life or from photographs, provided they are of sufficient quality and presence.

A commissioned portrait is a personal artwork that takes time, care, and craftsmanship.

starting prices

Individual portrait – 30x40cm: from €1600, 40×50 cm: from €1900
Group portraits, larger formats, or special requests: price upon consultation
Animal portraits: from €1600, depending on size and complexity

Final pricing depends on size, composition, and detail. After an initial conversation, I will provide a clear quote.

how it works

Initial contact – by email, phone, or in my studio
Discussion of your wishes – size, atmosphere, background, working from photos if needed
Optional photo session or live sitting
Painting process – I will keep you updated throughout
Completion and delivery – the finished painting is handed over or shipped
Optional final touch – if desired, a small adjustment can be made after completion (e.g. subtle change in color or detail)

Before starting the painting process, I ask for a 30% deposit based on the agreed price. The remaining balance is due upon completion.
